Sheer print is definitely in this season. One of the more trendier styles on the scene, that I never imaglined myself getting into. But as much as I love a good contrast color, I'm also heavy into brown in it's range of spectrum from: mocha, tawny, chocolate, walnut, peanut, coffee, pecan, caramel and cinnamon tones. I live for a warm shade of brown as it compliments so perfectly on my skin.
There's loads of layering that can be done in working with colors in the brown family to exude a timeless look. From smart business, a night out on the town, a weekend brunch, a super chic statement look, minimalist, to your everyday causal style.
This particular angel-print, rouged, drawstring, ruffled-hem dress was an absolute wildcard purchase that I've been looking for a way to pull off for months now. Just maybe I'll muster the courage to wear this sheer piece outside in the world in the coming days. It has such a flirty, girly element that I couldn't pass up on. It could even be worn as a beach cover-up over a barely-there-bikini for just a touch of chic poolside loungewear.
I figure this piece will carryover as long as I try several different parings of color with undergarments and accessories over time. With a little pop of gold, it could look more expensive than it actually is, and also upstage this current last minute look that I pulled together for this shoot.
If you are a little on the fence with testing the waters of bold prints, go for a sheer style, and play around with your creativity in layering for best results.
