Nostalgia

Bringing it all the way back to June in this lime, nylon drawstring dress that feels like absolute heaven on the body. There's so much to say about this color and style in general. The print, and the fit is so good. Undeniably good, that I had to make a point mention all of the great details on why I love not only a bold print; but a contoured fit in a dress.

For starters, this is a body-con piece holding tons of capacity for not only an hourglass shape, but for actual movement. Think activewear, but in a dress. In texture, you don't feel constricted in it at all, as it hugs your shape like a second layer of skin and I love that. I love to wear clothes that fit the body, with a seamless feel and this one does it for me.

Breathability in tight fitting fabrics that still have flexibility in the shape, is an easy sell for me.

Initially, I was looking for a more of beach-cover-up style dress to layer on top of some of the new mint colored bikini's I had purchased over the summer. Then fell in lust with this dress while perusing some of my favorite online retailers one evening. I thought to myself, this could work, but wasn't actually sure I'd wear it until I tried it on. It had this sort of glove like fit that I couldn't get enough of. How it feels on the skin is absolutely wonderful.

One of the details I really love about this dress is the drawstrings. The style alone is giving me 2000's vibes and reminds me of the days when I used to head across the border in Washington, to Vancouver B.C. to hit up the hottest nightclubs.

At the time, 19 was the legal age to drink alcohol and get into nightclubs, and all that you needed to get through the border was a state ID. It was an hour drive tops from my hometown, to get down to Vancouver B.c. Myself and a few girlfriends used to love to style ourselves in our best outfits, and dip out of the country once a week to go dancing in outfits like this.

A bit nostalgic to revisit those days in memory, and to drape myself in threads that bring me back into time when my life back then was wild, innocent and free.
